We Have Paid Corp Members Election Allowances – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has debunked rumours making the rounds that the allowances due to corps members participating in the 2015 elections is fifty-three thousand, five hundred naira (N53, 500).

This is contained in a statement released by the NYSC management. According to the statement, each corps member participating at all levels of the 2015 general elections is paid twenty-six thousand naira (N26, 000) and not fifty-three thousand, five hundred naira (N53, 500) as being rumoured.

The management confirmed that the amount of thirteen thousand naira (N13, 000) for the presidential and national assembly elections has been paid and that any corps member who could not receive his or her election allowances as at 6pm, Nigerian time on Tuesday, April 7, should make a complaint to the appropriate quarters.

The statement also makes it clear that the NYSC management has formally informed and directed all states secretariats to pay thirteen thousand naira (N13, 000) allowance per corps member for the April 11 Governorship and state assembly elections in advance.
